Ocean Technologies Launches New Energy-Efficient Small Hole EDM Drilling Machine, Supporting the Manufacturing Industry’s Transition Toward Net-Zero Emissions

Recently, Ocean Technologies announced the launch of a new series of energy-efficient Small Hole EDM Drilling Machines, designed to support customers in achieving their net-zero transformation goals.
Ocean’s 4th-generation OCEAN Controller features high speed, low power consumption, and reduced carbon emissions, and is equipped with an advanced EtherCAT CNC control system.
In 2024 (ROC Year 113), Ocean Technologies was honored with the National Invention and Creation Award. The awarded patent—Through-Hole Machining Control System for EDM Machines—has also been granted a European patent, demonstrating Ocean’s strong innovation capabilities and global technological recognition.

River600: High-Speed Discharge Circuit & Mineral Casting Structure

The River600 is equipped with the HP1 Plus high-speed discharge circuit, enabling high-speed 3D EDM milling and shaping operations. This model has passed ISO 14955 certification and received the Gold Award of the Machine Tool Energy-Saving Label.
To further reduce carbon emissions during production, Ocean Technologies has replaced certain metal cast components of the River600 with mineral casting. Mineral casting is a high-performance engineering material composed primarily of mineral aggregates, polymers, and specialized additives. It offers outstanding characteristics such as high precision, lightweight structure, corrosion resistance, high design flexibility, and excellent thermal stability.
By adopting mineral casting, machine production energy consumption is reduced by approximately 50%, while the overall carbon footprint is lowered by around 35% compared to conventional manufacturing processes.

River350: Precision Discharge Circuit for Micro Hole Machining

The River350 features the HP2 precision discharge circuit, capable of machining micro holes as small as 0.07 mm, as well as continuous 0.2 mm hole matrix drilling with up to 9,000 holes.
This model combines high speed, energy efficiency, high precision, and automation, and adopts a compact machine design, making it ideal for factories with limited floor space.

OCEAN Controller V4: Advanced Control System & Smart Interface

Ocean Technologies also unveiled the 4th-generation OCEAN Controller, equipped with a 21-inch capacitive touch screen and running on the latest Windows 11 operating system. The new interface design significantly improves operational convenience and cybersecurity.
Key features include remote network monitoring, OPC UA connectivity, advanced data communication, and OCEAN. Intelligence AI Online Expert, which provides 24/7 real-time support, including machine troubleshooting and operation guidance.

Ocean Technologies stated that these new technologies for Small Hole EDM Drilling Machines will help customers reduce carbon emissions, accelerate the development of green machine tools, and advance sustainable manufacturing.
